Introducing Dennis Vera, Fort Myers Assistant Store Manager

It's time to introduce you to another member of the Tile Outlets of America store leadership teams. In this article, we catch up with Dennis Vera, Fort Myers Assistant Store Manager.

Meet Fort Myers Assistant Store Manager, Dennis Vera

TOA: Dennis, tell us about yourself. Are you from the Fort Myers area?

DV: I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I lived there until I was 18.

I moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 2004.

TOA: What is your role at Tile Outlets of America?

DV: I was hired at Tiles Outlet of America as an Assistant Store Manager on January 30, 2017. Before that, I spent over ten years with Lowes.

TOA: Any surprises since joining Tile Outlets?

DV: The only surprise that I really have is the way the employees like being around each other.

I came from managing a big box store and we never knew each other on a personal level.

Tile Outlets is more like a family which I really enjoy being a part of. I feel like I am a part of something important when I am around everyone here.

TOA: How did you get started in tile and stone?

DV: It was very difficult at first and I’m still having to learn new things every time I come to work.

It makes for a wonderful experience because I have my co-workers alongside me to help me figure things out.

TOA: What do you love most about tile and stone?

DV: I love how each tile and stone has a different color and a different design, which I personally think makes it more fun to install since it’s like solving a puzzle.

TOA: What are your favorite products at Tile Outlets and why?

DV: My favorite products are the mosaics and back splash decorative items that we provide to our customers. They each have their own pattern and design which can be very complementary for the type of project someone would be using them for.

TOA: Which are your favorite installations?

DV: My favorite installations are be the ones in the Inspiration Center, and in particular the Travertine Entertainment Center.

TOA: What can visitors to Tile Outlets of America expect when they visit?

DV: They can count on a wide selection of tile that they can pick from, wonderful customer service provided by our employees, and a place for customers to come in and design their projects.

TOA: What advice do you have for someone getting started with a tile project?

DV: I would make a list of colors, texture, or designs that I would enjoy to see when the project is being worked on or finished.

TOA: What do you do when you’re not immersed in tile?

DV: Besides tile, I enjoy spending time with my wife (Judy) and my two daughters (Nyjializ, age six, and Amiriya, age four).

Oh, and I love the New York Mets and the New York Giants!
