When should I use sanded grout?
Use sanded grout for joints 1/8 inch and wider — typical for floors and most porcelain and ceramic installations. The sand gives the joint body and prevents shrinkage cracking.
Will sanded grout scratch my tile?
It can scratch soft, polished surfaces like marble, limestone, and glass. For those, use unsanded grout. Porcelain and glazed ceramic are safe.
Do I need to seal sanded grout?
Yes — standard cement grout is porous and should be sealed after curing (about 48–72 hours) and resealed periodically. TEC Power Grout is the exception; it's formulated to resist stains without sealing.
How much grout do I need?
It depends on tile size, joint width, and joint depth. As a rough guide, a 25 lb bag covers 100–200 sq ft of typical floor tile. Our team can calculate it from your tile size and layout.
