Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in a KERDI shower kit?
Depending on the kit: a pre-sloped foam tray, KERDI membrane for the walls, band for the seams, preformed corners, pipe seals, and (in drain kits) the KERDI-DRAIN. 'No drain' kits let you choose the drain grate finish separately.
Can I cut a foam shower tray to size?
Yes — trays cut cleanly with a utility knife to fit your footprint, as long as you keep the drain placement within the tray's sloped field. Extensions and larger trays handle oversized showers.
What is a pre-pitch slope kit?
Plastic slope guides you set on the floor before packing a mud bed — they guarantee the code-required 1/4" per foot slope to the drain without guesswork.
How do I convert a bathtub to a walk-in shower?
A conversion kit like the SSCK601 supplies the sloped pan sized to a standard tub alcove, plus the curb and drain components — you supply waterproofing, tile, and the plumbing rough-in adjustment.
