Where can I use tile mastic?
Dry interior walls: kitchen backsplashes, laundry walls, fireplace surrounds (check heat rating), and powder-room wainscots. It's premixed, grabs fast, and cleans up with water.
Where should I NOT use mastic?
Floors, showers, tub surrounds, steam rooms, and outdoors. Mastic is organic and re-softens with prolonged moisture — use thinset mortar in any wet or load-bearing application.
What size tile can mastic hold?
Generally ceramic up to about 15 inches. For large-format or heavy tile — even on dry walls — a high-tack adhesive like TEC Flexera or an LHT thinset is the safer bond.
