The KERDI shower tray is the pre-sloped foam shower base that replaces a hand-packed mortar bed, sized 38x60" with a center drain location. It's cut and pitched to the drain at the factory, so you get a perfect slope every time, no floating a pan by hand and hoping it drains.
Set the tray in thin-set over your subfloor, bond KERDI membrane over the top and seams, then tile directly on the surface. The center-drain layout suits a standard alcove shower where plumbing runs to the middle of the pan.
