The 1/4x1/2" U-notch trowel spreads thinset for medium to large tile, porcelain planks, and wall installs that need a fuller mortar bed than a V notch delivers. The rounded U-shaped notches hold more adhesive and collapse smoothly for strong contact behind each tile.
Drag the stainless steel blade at a consistent angle, comb the thinset in one direction, and set the tile with a slight sliding motion to flatten the ridges. The 1/4x1/2-inch U notch works well for ceramic and porcelain wall tile and plank formats. The stainless blade cleans up fast and resists rust job after job.
